Living space for seniors

As we age into our golden years, our day to day routine can get a bit boring and monotonous. Being retired does provide the freedom of not having to work and having lots of time for leisure, but it can also quickly turn to boredom and longing to have a more fulfilling lifestyle. The issue often seems to be that although seniors still want to have fun and belong to a group, certain limitations can sometimes make it difficult to do so.

Not being able to drive, not being connected with others their age, and physical limitations are just a few reasons why many seniors spend a lot of time sitting in front of the television, listening to music, or reading. There’s certainly nothing wrong with any of these activities but getting out and involved in the community brings a certain sense of satisfaction to those of any age. At Parkwood Heights, we take great pride in helping make sure seniors love living here through a variety of activities and events.

Daffodil Days

The annual Daffodil Days at Parkwood Heights have become an event our residents look forward to. The 16th annual Daffodil Days is scheduled to take place on April 13, 2019. It all kicks off when the Towpath Fife & Drum marches into the main entrance. This free event culminates with an ice cream sundae social and swing music by none other than the Bug Zappers. Daffodil Days is also an open house to our community for those who may be interested in spending their golden years with us at Parkwood Heights.

Culinary Celebrations

Everyone loves trying delicious foods which is why we offer several unique culinary celebrations throughout the year. Some of the events we’ve put on include a country western chicken barbeque that featured live music, a farmers market, horse and wagon rides, games, and a petting zoo as well as a free soup tasting event. Every day can be made special in our fireside dining room featuring chef-prepared meals prepared onsite.
